12 STEPS TO BETTER NUTRITION

      There is no Blueprint for eating a healthy diet.Give your body everyday a variety of different food including unprocessed food.Eat and Drink in moderation.And all this above how do you do it? You do this only by following certain diet regime and with this article you are all set to change your diet to a healthier level.

  1. Start the day by Eating a fibre rich breakfast which keeps oneself mentally and physically alert Role of dietary fibre
  2. Keep coffee and Caffeine containing drinks to a minimum.Try one or two cups daily of black and green tea .Tea contains antioxidants which are associated with lower rates of cancer and heart diseases. 
  3. Slowly try to reduce the amount of sugar in tea or coffee.
  4. Eat wholegrain bread more often than white bread.Wholegrain bread has more vitamin B and twice as much fibre.
  5. Gradually increase the variety of fruit and vegetables.For example include a piece of fruit with breakfast and one as a snack.Have Salad with lunch and two cups of cooked vegetables for dinner.
  6. Replace sugar and fat-filled snacks such as biscuit,pastries and chocolates with fruits.
  7. Try to do without deep fried take away food to reduce saturated food intake.
  8. Drink enough water.Wonders of water
  9. Use less salt or cut it out altogether.Excess salt over time can result in rise in blood pressure.It is easy to avoid too much salt by eating fresh food because most of the salt in our food comes from processed food .
  10. Eat diary products in moderation.Low fat or no fat,yogurt and ice cream helps to keep saturated fat intake down.
  11. Choose lean cuts of Red meat and minimise the intake of processed meats such as Salami,Bacon and Sausages.Lean meat is good source of iron,zinc,vitamin B-12 and high quality protein
  12. Eat more Fish to increase the intake of beneficial omega-3  fatty acids .
